19-летняя итальянская горнолыжница Матильда Лоренци tragically passed away today, October 29, due to injuries sustained during training.

The tragic incident occurred with Loranzi on Monday, October 28, during training at the Val Senales ski resort. She was immediately transported to the San Maurizio hospital in Bolzano in critical condition after the accident.
Doctors fought for the athlete’s life all night, but she passed away on Tuesday morning.
Lorenzi was regarded as one of the most talented young skiers in the world. Last season, she won the overall standings of the Italian Cup, and placed sixth and eighth in the downhill and super-G respectively at the junior world championships in Châtel (France).
It is worth mentioning that last weekend in Sölden, the new season of the World Cup in alpine skiing started.
