Luvsansharav Natsagdorj Claims Double Gold at the SkySnow Asia-Pacific Championships

Ulaanbaatar, April 7, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia secured two gold medals during the inaugural 2025 SkySnow Asia-Pacific Championships, which took place at the Palcall Tsumagoi Ski Resort in northeastern Japan on April 5-6, 2025.

Luvsansharav Natsagdorj, representing Mongolia, is the 2023 FIS Junior World Champion in alpine snow running and the current National Champion of Mongolia. He achieved remarkable success by winning two gold medals at the Championships. His first victory came in the vertical 3.5 km race, which included a 610-meter elevation gain, finishing in a time of 28 minutes and 10 seconds. He followed this up with a win in the classic 10 km race, featuring an 850-meter elevation gain, with a time of 52 minutes and 2 seconds. With these accomplishments, Natsagdorj proudly brought the National Anthem of Mongolia to life twice at the SkySnow Asia-Pacific Championships.

Snow running is a challenging sport that tests athletes’ endurance and mental strength on snow-covered mountainous terrains. After claiming his Junior World Championship title two years ago, Natsagdorj prepared for this competition by training in the rugged highlands of Gobi-Altai aimag. His victories have now secured his qualification for the finals of the 2025 Global Championship.

In recent years, alpine snow running has rapidly gained traction globally, particularly in countries like Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and across Europe.
